Hello, I’m Jeanette! I’m Licensed Mental Health Counselor and hold national certification. If you’re here reading this, it’s likely because you’ve reached a decision point; you’re looking to make a positive change in your life, and you’re looking for help to do it. Naturally, a big part in making that change is finding someone you connect with to help you learn something about the person who you’ve chosen to help you on your journey.  I have a diverse background that guides the way I go about the therapeutic process. Frameworks like Bowen Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Person Centered, and Faith-based therapy, all inform my approach to your care.

I also incorporate evidence-based and creative techniques according to my client’s interests and therapeutic goals. I have worked with couples, individuals, and adolescents. For the past 2 years, I have facilitated substance abuse groups as well as groups focusing on men with a domestic violence history. My goal is to unpack unhelpful behaviors, thoughts, beliefs, and affirming the parts of you that are already health-giving and prospering (and believe me we all have these parts in us!).

I am a first generation Cuban American, born and raised in Miami y tambien hablo español!

My journey working in the mental health field began over six years ago, when I worked as a Mental Health Case Manager, guiding individuals and families through life’s many difficult obstacles. I also began support groups for children and adults newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and have been a strong advocate for these individuals ever since. Through that work, and by investing time and energy into people’s needs, I realized how much I truly enjoy connecting and helping people. That’s what brought me back to school for my Master’s degree in Marriage & Family and Mental Health Counseling: my desire to spend my career doing something I love to do: help people heal!

I have worked with individuals from all stages of life and believe we are all image bearers worthy of love, mercy, justice, and faithfulness. Everyone has an essential worth and every life is sacred, because we are each created by the living God, in His image and likeness. In knowing this, I have made it my life’s mission to bring out the light in people even on their darkest days.
