If any of this sounds familiar, please know you’re not alone and you don’t have to go through it alone either. I’m here to support you or your child on a path toward healing, growth, and lasting change.
Hi, I’m Erin Whalen. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Stony Brook University in New York, and I’m passionate about helping people feel more empowered, understood, and connected. In our work together, I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). More importantly, I tailor each session to fit your unique needs and goals because no two people are exactly the same.
Whether you or your child are navigating anxiety, hopelessness, life transitions, or just feeling stuck, my goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly seen and supported. I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel when things aren’t getting better and I want you to know that there is a way forward, and you don’t have to find it on your own.
Working with children and teens is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. I empathize with how hard it can be to watch your child struggle, especially when the usual tools and strategies just aren’t helping. In our sessions, I incorporate developmentally appropriate techniques such as play therapy and creative, art-based interventions, alongside structured CBT, DBT, and SFBT methods. These approaches help kids learn to manage their emotions, build coping skills, and develop the confidence they need to thrive.
I believe therapy should feel like a collaboration, not a one-size-fits-all experience. That’s why I work with each client to develop a personalized plan with clear, achievable goals. My hope is to help you or your child move forward with purpose, resilience, and a greater sense of well-being.
Wherever you are on your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you.
