Julie Petrone, LCSW
Julianna Petrone, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker who provides services to adults and emerging adults through individual and group counseling. Ms. Petrone has extensive experience working with an array of issues and addresses issues through both a mind and body approach. Her areas of expertise include first responders, veterans, spouses of veterans, grief and loss, complex trauma (childhood and adulthood), anxiety and panic disorders, women’s issues, and military sexual trauma. She has extended training in treating trauma, grief, anxiety, relational issues, and depression. She incorporates stress management techniques in her work with most clients.
Ms. Petrone received her masters degree in clinical social work from Adelphi University in January 2009 and is currently pursuing a PhD in clinical social work with a psychodynamic emphasis. Ms. Petrone incorporates both CBT and psychodynamic modalities in her practice. She served as a Major and active duty clinical social worker in the USAF for seven years and completed one deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. She is a certified therapist with advanced training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma and has additional trauma training in EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure.
