Alexis Highsmith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida and began working as a therapist in 2009 following several years previous case management experience. Alexis works with children and adolescents, adults and families. She has specialized in providing therapy to children and adolescents helping them to overcome and cope with symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and addiction. Alexis is trained in trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, Emotional Freedom Techniques/Heart assisted therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Alexis earned her Masters in Social Work from Florida A&M University in 2001 and went on to earn a certificate in Professional Counseling from Capella University in 2010 and Master of Science degree in Counseling Studies from Capella University in 2012.
